The Disability Carer Initiative (DCI)
I am the funder of the DCI, an independent research and policy initiative dedicated to improving the lives of disability carers and creating opportunities for their personal and professional growth. We achieve this through rigorous scientific research that helps us build the necessary evidence for our mission: to create true change.
Our work begins with understanding that the challenges carers face require going beyond documenting that inequalities exist; we also need to investigate why and how they arise in the first place, what causes them, how public policies and institutions help shape them, and what can be done to create long-term change.
